Charlotte S. Atkinson joined NTI in 2008. As treasurer and chief financial officer, she is responsible for managing the organization's finances and internal control environment. In partnership with other departments, she develops and oversees NTI's $20 million annual operating budget and capital budget. She provides financial information and professional support to NTI's Board of Directors. She is also responsible for serving as a liaison with NTI's donors, external auditors, internal management, the IRS and other stakeholders on financial matters. She directed the selection and implementation of new accounting software to update NTI's previous system.

Prior to NTI she was with Deloitte, where she was a senior manager in audit. She has extensive experience auditing not-for-profit, financial services and service organizations. Atkinson is a certified public accountant, and a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants. She is also a chartered accountant and a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales. She holds a bachelor's degree (Hons) in physics from the University of Bristol, UK, and a master's degree in international studies from the University of Birmingham, UK.
