Container of Radioactive Materials Reported Stolen from Dabaa Nuclear Power Plant Construction Site

Abstract:

On January 19, a press report suggested that a container with radioactive materials was stolen from the construction site of Egypt's first nuclear power plant. Another container at this site, located in Dabaa, was reportedly cracked and missing part of its contents. The material in question and its quantity remain unknown. In the meantime, security authorities have initiated a search for the missing materials. According to the report, Dabaa was recently a site of clashes between anti-nuclear protesters and Egyptian police.
