Kola peninsula-bound railway car with radioactive shipment detained in Murmansk
Abstract:
A railcar with cargo, the radiation level of which exceeded 20 microrentgen/hour was detained at a control point of a container station in Murmansk, Russia. One of the containers in the railcar reportedly originated in Saratov and was addressed to a military unit located on the Kola Peninsula. Emergency service specialists examined the railcar, which was moved to special location. The content of the cargo was not reported. {Entered 09/23/08 AL}
