Polish Reactor Modified to Stop Using Weapon-Grade Uranium

Poland, with assistance from Russia and the United States, has finished modifying its Maria Research Reactor in Otwock to run on low-enriched uranium instead of high-enriched material that could be used to produce nuclear weapons, the U.S. National Nuclear Security Administration announced in a Tuesday press release.
