Russia to Deploy Maneuverable Warhead
From Thursday, November 3, 2005 issue.
Russia plans to deploy Topol-M missiles equipped with new gliding nuclear warheads designed to evade missile defenses, Ekho Moskvy radio reported yesterday (see GSN, Nov. 2). The warheads are expected to be deployed beginning next year, said Strategic Missile Troops commander Col. Gen. Nikolai Solovtsov (Ekho Moskvy/BBC Monitoring, Nov. 2).
