U.S. to Deploy Four Patriot Launch Pads in Japan
From Tuesday, October 3, 2006 issue.
The U.S. deployment of Patriot Advanced Capability 3 air-defense systems on the Japanese island of Okinawa is to consist of four launch pads, each carrying six missiles, the Associated Press reported yesterday (see GSN, Oct. 2; Associated Press/The Scotsman, Oct. 2). The four launch pads will be placed in and around the U.S. Kadena Air Base, Kyodo News reported (Kyodo News/Yahoo!News, Oct. 2).
