Iran Reportedly Tests Long-Range Missile

An Israeli security source said that Iran yesterday conducted a test flight of a long-range missile, Reuters reported (see GSN, May 22).

The flight did not exceed the known range of Iran’s Shahab 3, which was last tested in January, according to the source.

The Shahab 3 is believed to have a top range of 2,000 kilometers while carrying a nuclear warhead, Reuters reported (Reuters, May 23).
