U.S. Tests ICBM

The U.S. Air Force yesterday conducted a successful test-launch of an unarmed Minuteman 3 ICBM from Vandenberg Air Force Base in California, the Associated Press reported (see GSN, April 10).

The missile flew 4,800 miles in about 30 minutes before its three warheads landed at the Kwajalein Missile Range in the Marshall Islands, according to a press statement (Associated Press/Yahoo!News, June 14).
