Chlorine Released in Iraqi Truck Bomb

A chlorine-laden truck bomb exploded near a police checkpoint yesterday in Iraq, sickening 11 people, according to local officials (see GSN, April 11).

Police fired on the truck as it approached their checkpoint in Zangoura, north of Ramadi, Reuters reported.  Ramadi is capital of the Anbar province which has seen a number of bombings involving chlorine this year (Reuters, May 20).
