France installed a third battery of Crotale ground-to-air missiles near the nuclear reprocessing plant at La Hague over the weekend, the French air force announced yesterday.  Authorities previously installed two batteries after the Sept. 11 attacks on the United States due to concerns terrorists could attempt to fly a plane into the plant (see GSN, Nov. 8). Experts said a kamikaze attack could create a nuclear catastrophe worse than the 1986 accident at Chernobyl in Ukraine (Agence France-Presse, Nov. 20).
