The U.S. State Department published today the names of eight Chinese, two Armenian and two Moldovan entities on which the United States imposed sanctions May 9 for transferring to Iran WMD and missile technology controlled by international export controls (see GSN, May 10).

The Chinese entities include three already under U.S. sanctions imposed in January:  C.Q. Chen, the Liyang Chemical Equipment Co. and the China National Machinery and Electric Equipment Import and Export Co. (see GSN, Jan. 24).

The Zibo Chemical Equipment Plant (Chemet Global), Wha Cheong Tai Co., China Shipbuilding Trading Co., China Precision Machinery Import/Export Corp. and China National Aerotechnology Import and Export Corp. were also sanctioned.

The Armenian entities are Lizen Open Joint Stock Co. and Armen Sargsian.  The Moldovan entities are Cuanta and Mikhail Pavlovich Vladov.

Under the sanctions, the companies and individuals cannot sell goods or services to the U.S. government, receive U.S. government assistance, purchase any item on the U.S. Munitions List or receive a license for items controlled under U.S. export regulations and the Export Administration Act of 1979 (Federal Register, May 16).
