Iran Tests Solid-Fuel Ballistic Missile

Iran on Sunday conducted a test flight of a new 2,000-kilometer range missile, Haaretz reported today (see GSN, May 20).

The test of the solid-fuel missile was “100-percent successful,” Iranian Rear Adm. Ali Shamkhani told Agence France-Presse.

Tehran also recently upgraded the liquid-fuel Shahab 3 missile to have a range of at least 2,000 kilometers, Haaretz reported (Haaretz, May 31).
