Pakistan Conducts Ballistic Missile Test

Pakistan launched an improved version of its nuclear-capable Ghauri missile in a successful test today, the Associated Press reported (see GSN, Jan. 25).

The Pakistani army’s Strategic Missile Group fired the medium-range missile from an undisclosed site, military officials said.  Pakistan has been upgrading the missile, which has an 810-mile range, so it can be fired from mobile launchers (Associated Press/International Herald Tribune, Feb. 1).
