U.S. Removes ICBM Booster From Roadside Ditch

U.S. Air Force crews have recovered a strategic missile rocket booster that was damaged last month in a transportation mishap near Minot Air Force Base, N.D. (see GSN, Aug. 1). A truck fell off a gravel road July 31 while carrying the unarmed Minuteman 3 booster to its silo. The missile was retrieved Saturday and base personnel have begun an investigation of the accident, the Associated Press reported (Associated Press/North Dakota Jamestown Sun, Aug. 11).
