SINO-RUSSIAN NUCLEAR ANALYSIS LABORATORY
The Sino-Russian Nuclear Analysis Laboratory, located in Harbin, was completed
in May 1992. The facility, which will reportedly supply nuclear analysis
equipment for the Chinese mining and metallurgical industries, includes a
Russian neutron source, neutron detector and fluorescent analysis equipment, and
a Chinese computer system.[1,2] The Chemical Research Institute of the Far East
branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences provided a reported $50,000 for the
facility, while the Technical and Physics Research Institute of the Heilongjiang
Provincial Academy of Sciences contributed $90,000.[3]
