China Sanjiang Space Group,

The Sanjiang Space Group, under the China Aerospace Science and Industry Corporation (CASIC), is located in Xiaogan, north of Wuhan.  Its production is centered in Yuan'an, in western Hubei province, and it maintains an office in Wuhan.  The Sanjiang Space Group employs more than 15,300 personnel.

The Sanjiang Space Group conducts research and development of solid-fueled tactical ballistic missiles and stealth/counterstealth technology.  It was established in August 1969 as a Third Line production base for the Haiying Academy of Electromechanical Technology, or 3rd Academy, building anti-ship missiles.  In 1975 it began independent research on the M-11 missile, designed by Wang Zhenhua, who completed system research and development in 1984.  It is also involved in the development of transporter-erector-launchers (TELs).
