The NIS Nuclear and Missile database provides comprehensive and timely information on the nuclear infrastructure and nonproliferation policies of the Newly Independent States of the former Soviet Union. As of 2003, information on delivery vehicle infrastructure is also being added. Each NIS country entry contains sections on specific infrastructure elements, facilities, or policy issues. The Profiles Database also contains tables and the full texts of certain relevant documents. NIS Nuclear and Missile Database is updated monthly, and is maintained by the staff members and graduate research assistants of the NIS Nonproliferation Program. Over 300 sources are searched for information for the database, with searching functions carried out by the Center for Russian and Eurasian Studies Library (Russian-language materials) and the Information Collections Branch of CNS. We are always seeking to provide the best possible information on nonproliferation issues in the former Soviet Union and welcome your comments and suggestions on the database. Please send them to NIS Nonproliferation Databases Coordinators Cristina Chuen (Cristina.Chuen@miis.edu) and Laurel Nolen (Laurel.Nolen@miis.edu). For information on the full-time and student staff members
who work on the database, please visit our Staff
Page.
