Before 1989 the Research Testing Center for Radiation Safety of Space Objects was a part of the Institute of Medical and Biological Problems

ACTIVITIES:
The Research Testing Center for Radiation Safety of Space Objects conducts activities in the following areas: environmental monitoring, modeling and risk assessment; radiobiology; particle, field, and accelerator physics; and materials synthesis and processing.[1]  The center has developed a piece of medical equipment, called Ritm-MET, which is used to monitor the health of nuclear industry workers.[2] The Ritm-MET uses space medicine technology.[3]
