This section of the NIS Nuclear and Missile Database contains information on Russian nuclear doctrine and strategic and tactical nuclear forces, including current deployments and future plans. Information on the implementation of arms control treaties (e.g. launcher dismantlement) is included in this section of the database, while information on political issues associated with treaties is contained in the Nuclear Treaties section.

For more information on nuclear submarines, submarine bases, and the naval nuclear reactor fuel cycle, please see the Naval Nuclear Reactors section of the database. Information on nuclear weapon design facilities is contained in the Nuclear Weapon Facilities section, while the production facilities for nuclear weapon fissile material are included in the Fissile Material Production section.
