Abstract:
On 22 October 2007, Vladivostok customs official inspecting outgoing
international mail, discovered a parcel, which
emitted radiation at a level that exceeded legal limits by 400 times. The parcel, sent by a Russian
national to the United Kingdom, contained binoculars made in
the 1960s, complete with a stand for the binoculars. The latter object was
covered with radium-266. The parcel was seized by Primtekhnopolis
company experts for disposal.[1]
