Abstract:
A citizen of Moldova was detained on the Ukraine-Moldova border after inspectors found an airplane receiver emitting radiation in his possession, Odesskiy Vestnik reported on 12 March 2009. Officials of the State Environmental Inspection stopped the man at a checkpoint for environmental inspection, which revealed the abnormal radiation levels. They then discovered the airplane receiver in his Mercedes. The object reportedly emitted a background radiation level 1000 times higher than normal. According to reports, the man procured the object from a Ukrainian citizen in Mikhaylovka-Rubensovka village in the Kiev region. {Entered PH}
