Base de Lanzamiento Vicecomodoro Marambio
Other Names: Vicecomodoro Marambio, Marambio
Location: King George Island, Antarctica
Subordinate to: Air Force
Primary Function: Telemetry, tracking, rocket and meteorological balloon launch
Description: In operation since 1976. A main launch site for CASTOR sounding rockets. A group of CNIE technicians was resident at the base beginning in 1979. Its launch and tracking facilities are available year round.
