The Hunan Space Agency is under the China Aerospace Science and Industry Corporation (CASIC). It is located in Changsha, Hunan Province, and oversees one research institute and five factories.

The Hunan Space Agency produces aerospace electromechanical equipment associated with surface-to-air missiles, and conducts research and development of special materials.

Institutes under the Hunan Space Agency include:

  • "7803 Factory", produces superhard materials; Director: Huang Yaoyue
  • "7804 Factory"
  • "7861 Factory"
  • "7801 Research Institute", in Changsha, Hunan Province; Director: Yan Hailiang
