Other Names: CENPALAB
Location: Havana, Cuba
Subordinate to: n/a
Director: n/a
Size: n/a
Primary Function: The center raises and provides animals for laboratory research.
History: CENPALAB was inaugurated in October 1982, however, according to Manuel Limonta, the institute moved into a new facility in the early 1990s.

Description:
Little information is available about the facility. Cuba has reported the activities of CENPALAB to the UN Department of Disarmament Affairs as part of the BWC confidence-building measures. CENPALAB, according to Cuban reports, participates in animal vaccine production, and contains "BL-3 containment laboratories." CENPALAB has participated in joint projects with CIGB, including the production of a "vaccine" against ticks, along with "other veterinary products."
