Description: The Bhatin Mine is located five kilometers from Jaduguda. It is much smaller than the UCIL's Jaduguda Mine, with which it shares the majority of its infrastructure. The Bhatin Mine has been in operation since 1986-1987 and currently produces approximately 150 tons of ore daily. This ore is then transported to the Jaduguda Mill for uranium extraction. The mine, which utilizes horizontal cutting and fill stopping methods to extract ore, has a depth of 135 meters. As of 1999-2000, there were apparently efforts to deepen the mine to 250 meters in order to increase production levels.
