Primary Function: Missile test site.
Description and Activities: The facility of Qom is located 125km south of Tehran in the province of Tehran. The facility is a test site for the Iranian missile program. In 1991, Iran successfully tested a Shehab 2 from this facility; it landed 500km away near Sharoud. Qom was supposed to test the Shehab 3 in 1993; there is no indication that this test ever took place.
On 11 November 1999, the IRGC tested the Sayyad 1 anti-aircraft missile.
