Description:
INTC HWZPRis a heavy water zero power reactor. It was built in 1991, but did not become operational (go critical) until 1995. The reactor produces 10kw of thermal power and uses heavy water as a moderator. Although this reactor is not suitable for producing plutonium, it does provide a useful tool for operating the future IR-40 heavy water reactor.
