Description: The site consists of some 20-30 buildings, one of which is focused on aluminum powder production. The pilot plant for spherical aluminum powder production was established after 1991, although the facility itself has been in operation for much longer. Some 2000 workers are employed at South Taji. The Iraqis stated that the aluminum powder was destined for commercial products although some production samples were provided to missile-related entities. Taji was under UN monitoring given the application of aluminum powder for solid rocket motor production.
