Description: Jaber Bin Hayan was built as a "turn-key" project by Romania from 1984-1988 and originally designed to produce protective CW and BW equipment (gas masks and protective clothing). Due to materials shortage, its production in the years 1991-1998 focused on manufacture of water boilers and plastic goods for a variety of customers. The plant consisted of ten workshops—including a small machine shop used mainly for the production of dies and moulds, and a press room with about 20 hot presses for rubber and other plastics—as well as administrative buildings. Total employment was approximately 1300, with some 75 engineers, chemists, and physicists. Jaber Bin Hayan produces "O" rings for the Al-Samoud as well as production dies based on technical information provided by Karama State Establishment.
