Biological Facilities Overview
The Soviet BW facilities in Kazakhstan directly or indirectly involved in an offensive and defensive Soviet BW program are:
- Vozrozhdeniye Island Open-Air Test Site in the Aral Sea;
- M. Aikimbayev Kazakh Scientific Center of Quarantine and Zoonotic Diseases (KSCQZD);
- Branch State Enterprise — Scientific Research Institute of Biosecurity Problems;
- Joint Stock Company "Biomedpreparat-Engineering Center" (Former Scientific Experimental and Production Base -SNOPB)
