Wiwŏn Uranium Deposit (渭原우라늄埋藏地)

Location: Wiwŏn-kun (渭原郡), Chagang Province (慈江道), North Korea

Subordinate to: Ministry of Extractive Industries (採取工業省), Cabinet (內閣)

Primary Function: Mining

Description: In 2002, the Hyundai Research Institute reported on its website that a uranium deposit exists in Wiwŏn-kun, Chagang Province. However, there is no further information on the amount on uranium at this site, or whether the site is being developed for uranium extraction.
