14th Nuclear Chemical Defense Battalion (第14核化學防衛大隊)

Location:
Sunch'ŏn Vinalon Complex (順川비날론聯合企業所), Sunch'ŏn (順川市), South P'yŏng'an Province (平安南道), North Korea

Subordinate to: Department of Operations (作戰部), Nuclear Chemical Defense Bureau (核化學防衛局), General Staff Department (人民軍總參謀部), Ministry of People's Armed Forces (人民武力部)

Primary Function: Reserve training for CBW combat operations

Description: Other reserve battalions include the 13th Nuclear Chemical Defense Battalion (第13核化學防衛大隊) at the Hamhŭng Vinalon Complex; unidentified 15th Nuclear Chemical Defense Battalion (第15核化學防衛大隊); 16th Nuclear Chemical Defense Battalion (第16核化學防衛大隊) at the Namhŭng Chemical Factory; 37th Nuclear Chemical Defense Battalion (第37核化學防衛大隊) at a factory in Wŏnsan, Kangwŏn Province; 38th Nuclear Chemical Defense Battalion (第38核化學防衛大隊) at the Sariwŏn Potash Fertilizer Complex. According to the Segye Ilbo, there are six reserve battalions and two active duty battalions (the 17th battalion in Onjŏng-ri, Sŏngch'ŏn-kun, South P'yŏng'an Province; and the 18th battalion in Sŏk'am-ri, P'yŏngwŏn-kun, South P'yŏng'an Province) for chemical and biological warfare.
