Primary Function: Production of cases for artillery shells and rockets
Description: According to North Korean defector Chang Hae Sŏng, his daughter, Chang Sŏng Suk, worked at the plant polishing shells or casings for rockets and/or artillery shells. The factory is above ground and surrounded by a wall, according to Chang. This facility is one of about 300 so-called "daily necessities workshops" that supply various parts and components for weapons. According to Chang, North Korea's energy problems have caused the factory to shut down several times, which indicates it is probably not an important production facility for Pyongyang's weapons programs.
