Rooi-Els Rocket Motor Test Facility

Other Names: Rooiels, Hangklip Static Motor Test Facility

Location: 34º 18' South, 18º 49' East

Subordinate to: Denel (Pty)

Primary function: Rocket motor testing

Description: A key component of South Africa's space launch program, the Rocket-Els rocket motor static testing facility was destroyed in 1995. Two test buildings, two magazines, and buildings for test control, instrumentation, and observation were dismantled in 1994-1995.
