Chemical Facilities

Khan Abu Shamat Depot

Location: Approximately 20km east of Dumayr
Subordinate to: Syrian government, military
Size: Unknown
Primary Function: Military ammunition depot with associated chemical weapons storage facility

Description:
This facility was described in a 1990 DIA report as being one of the sites at which Syria was storing its chemical munitions. It has not been described subsequently or in greater detail.
