Russia's Federal Security Service (FSB) alleges that a location referred to as "Dorud" houses a facility for research and development on unguided missiles. [1] Additional corroboration for this assertion is unavailable in the open source literature, though CSIS's Anthony Cordesman writes of a Dorud facility responsible for producing parts for T-72 tanks. [2] However, it is unclear whether the Dorud tank plant, roughly 300km southwest of Tehran, is the same facility as the alleged Dorud missile facility. Geographically, 'Dorud' could also refer to locations in Iran's northwest close to the Iraqi border, or north of Tehran at the Caspian Sea.[3] The alleged facility's existence and location cannot therefore be confirmed, at least using available open source information.
