Little information is available about the facility. Cuba has reported the activities of CENPALAB to the UN Department of Disarmament Affairs as part of the BWC confidence-building measures. CENPALAB, according to Cuban reports, participates in animal vaccine production, and contains "BL-3 containment laboratories." CENPALAB has participated in joint projects with CIGB, including the production of a "vaccine" against ticks, along with "other veterinary products."
