Established in 1972, the NCRRT promotes research and development in the medical, industrial, agricultural, and environmental applications of ionizing radiation. The two major research services and facilities in the center include the Mega Gamma Irradiation Unit and an Electron Accelerator. The center's three divisions are Radiation Research, Industrial Irradiation, and Biotechnology. [3]
