Rotem Industries is a private firm specializing in the development and commercialization of emerging technologies. [1] Scientists who formerly worked at the Dimona nuclear research center founded the company in the early 1980s. While the company's work does not deal with missile research, development, and production, it is indirectly involved in the missile industry via its work on crystal growth (sapphire).

Rotem's Crystals division manufactures sapphire domes for cruise missiles and creates sapphire windows for anti-ballistic missiles. [2] RAFAEL's Python and Litening missiles use the sapphire dome, and IAI's Arrow anti-ballistic missile utilizes Rotem's sapphire window technology. [3]
