In 1993, the IAEA completed a four-year technical assistance project with the AECS to set up a non-destructive testing (NDT) laboratory and to provide equipment, advice, and training to AECS personnel in basic NDT techniques. The laboratory is currently used for routine NDT training and provides NDT services to local industries and other agencies in Syria.
