A second phase of Leningrad NPP, consisting of four VVER-1200 pressurized water reactors, is under construction.[3] The reactors are an advanced, third-generation model called V-491, and will have a net capacity of 1170MWe. The first concrete for Leningrad II-1 was poured in October 2008, and for Leningrad 11-2 in April 2010.[4] Commercial operation of the first two reactors is scheduled for 2013 and 2016. The reactors will replace the two oldest units at Leningrad NPP and will also provide district heating.[5] Construction of Leningrad II-3 and 4 is planned for 2011 and 2014, respectively. A site development license was granted in June 2011.[6]
