Canada, India Finalize Safeguards Agreement for Atomic Exports
India and Canada have finalized an agreement that will ensure Canadian nuclear goods are only used in Indian facilities that are under International Atomic Energy Agency monitoring, the Canadian Press reported on Monday.
A bilateral civilian atomic collaboration agreement has been held up since 2010 due to Canada's demand for assurances that no Canadian-origin uranium or other atomic products will be used in India's nuclear weapons program.
