Nunn Receives German Honor in Munich

NTI Co-Chairman Senator Sam Nunn was awarded the Knight Commander’s Cross of the Order of Merit of the Federal Republic of Germany on the margins of the 2013 Munich Security Conference. The award, presented by Foreign Minister Guido Westerwelle on February 1, was bestowed by Federal President Joachim Gauck for Senator Nunn's contributions to peace and security in Europe, nuclear disarmament and his longstanding commitment to the Munich Security Conference.
U.S. Vice President Joe Biden, German Ambassador to the U.S. Peter Ammon, Deputy Chancellor and Minister of Economy Philipp Rösler, and members of the U.S. Congressional delegation to the Munich Security Conference were present for the ceremony.
