Bringing together leading cybersecurity experts, nuclear security practitioners and other stakeholders to address cybersecurity threats to nuclear materials, nuclear facilities, and nuclear command, control, and communications.
NTI brought together high-level former senior military and government officials, policy experts, and cybersecurity experts to form a Cyber-Nuclear Weapons Study Group. The group examined the implications of cyber threats to nuclear weapons and related systems and has developed a set of options for our nuclear policies, postures, and doctrines that will reduce risks.
NTI and C4ADS hope to build upon existing work in the field to demonstrate how use of publicly available data and network analysis techniques can supplement traditional monitoring and verification of international agreements. The project aims to identify trends and risk factors in international trade of dual-use goods and potentially to uncover how individuals, entities, and networks facilitate potentially illicit activity in a digital age.
