Offers/Requests for Assistance

The Marshall Islands has officially requested assistance through the 1540 Committee, noting that it, similar to other small developing states, "requires assistance with the further implementation of UNSCR 1540, as well as the key multilateral nonproliferation treaties." The island nation specifically requested assistance "with completing a review of its current national legislation to determine what further steps must be taken to ensure the full implementation of resolution 1540 and relevant treaties. It also requires assistance with the implementation of trans-shipment controls." See the United Nations 1540 Committee Website for more information on Assistance Requested by Member States.

Official Reports

The Marshall Islands submitted its first report on 23 November 2004, which clearly states that the Marshall Islands fully complies with Resolution 1540. No further reports have been submitted since its initial submission in 2004.
