The Nuclear Threat Initiative (NTI) has created this privacy notice to demonstrate our firm commitment to the privacy and security of our donor information. We believe in organizational transparency: you have a right to know the types of information we collect about you, how we safeguard that information, and what we do with it.

NTI will not trade, share, or sell a donor’s personal information with anyone else, nor send donor mailings on behalf of other organizations. While NTI periodically publishes donor names (such as a donor listing in annual reports), donors can always request to remain anonymous.

Credit card information for donations made through our website are secure and masked to our organization; NTI and its authorized merchant processes donations under a PCI DSS* compliant setting. Credit card numbers provided via reply cards, by phone, or taken at events are used to process the appropriate donation, which is confirmed by email to the donor, and the credit card information is then promptly and securely shredded. Credit card information is not retained on site or in the database visible to NTI employees.

*Companies - like NTI - that conform to the guidelines set forth in the Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI DSS) have taken the rigorous steps necessary to provide customers with protection against credit card fraud and other security threats involving credit card payments and data storage.
