Senior Director, Nuclear Materials Security (NMS)
The Nuclear Threat Initiative (NTI) is a non-profit whose mission is to transform global security by driving systemic solutions to nuclear and biological threats imperiling humanity. NTI is seeking a Senior Director to join the Nuclear Materials Security (NMS) team. This position reports to the Vice President, NMS and will work in our DC office, with a hybrid work from home option of up to 2-3 days per week
The Senior Director, NMS will develop and implement activities related to advanced reactor development, back-end fuel cycle solutions, and securing, reducing, and managing highly enriched uranium and plutonium. They will provide advice and assistance to NTI on other programs related to the IAEA LEU Bank, nuclear safeguards, and materials security and minimization. They will support NTI cross-programmatic efforts, represent NTI at professional conferences/meetings, and liaise and develop relationships with NTI partners.
Quality candidates will have a master’s degree in international relations, nuclear engineering, political science, or another relevant field, along with 10 years of professional experience in an international organization, government, non-profit, or private sector.
Additionally, candidates should have the ability to juggle multiple projects with competing deadlines; strong written, oral, and interpersonal skills; and prior experience with and availability to travel internationally.
