NTI endorses Joint NGO Statement at Biological Weapons Convention Meeting

Michelle Nalabandian from NTI | bio joined government officials and experts from around the world in Geneva, Switzerland last week for the Biological Weapons Convention (BWC) 2018 Meeting of States Parties (MSP) and the first annual Global Forum on Scientific Advances Important to the BWC. NTI joined more than 40 individuals and leading non-governmental organizations and institutions to endorse the Joint NGO Statement to the BWC 2018 MSP.

Former U.S. Secretary of Energy Ernest J. Moniz is chief executive officer and co-chair of the Nuclear Threat Initiative (NTI). He began serving in June 2017.

Joan Rohlfing

President and Chief Operating Officer, NTI

A founding NTI staff member, Joan Rohlfing became president of NTI in January 2010, after nine years as NTI's senior vice president for programs and operations. Before joining NTI, she held senior positions with the U.S. Department of Energy, as senior advisor for national security to the Secretary of Energy and as director of the Office of Nonproliferation and National Security.

Corey Hinderstein

Vice President, International Fuel Cycle Strategies

Corey Hinderstein serves as vice president of international fuel cycle strategies, returning to NTI after a three-year leave during which she was senior coordinator for nuclear security and nonproliferation policy affairs at the National Nuclear Security Administration, U.S. Department of Energy (DOE). Corey brings deep expertise in international nuclear fuel cycle policy, improving global nuclear security, as well as arms control and nonproliferation verification.

Ambassador Laura S. H. Holgate

Vice President, Materials Risk Management

Ambassador Laura S. H. Holgate joined NTI as Vice President for Materials Risk Management in April 2018. Previously, Ambassador Holgate was a consultant to the Third Way’s project on advanced nuclear reactors and national security, and to the Pacific Northwest National Laboratory. She served as U.S. Representative to the Vienna Office of the United Nations and the International Atomic Energy Agency from July 11, 2016 to January 20, 2017.
