The Nuclear Threat Initiative (NTI) has been working with various entities throughout the State of California to bring awareness to the threat of high-activity radiological sources, as well as build support for the protection and/or removal and replacement of these sources with safe and effective alternative technologies. This paper, submitted to the 59th annual meeting of INMM by Program Assistant Alex Bednarek and Senior Consultant Ioanna Iliopulos, outlines efforts between California and NTI to reduce radiological risks.
