Statement of the Nuclear Threat Initiative on the U.S.–Saudi 123 Agreement
The global expansion of nuclear energy, including in the Middle East, is in the United States’ interest—but it should not come at the expense of security.
The European Leadership Network (ELN) released a statement supporting the Iran nuclear agreement signed by more than 70 European political, diplomatic and military leaders, including NTI Vice Chairman Des Browne. The statement calls the agreement "a high water mark of multilateral diplomacy" that provides a framework for ending the immediate crisis over Iran's nuclear program and offers a foundation for "re-integrating Iran into the international community." The leaders call on all European states and the wider international community to back the deal.
